Chambal and Bharatpur Bird Watching Tour

Day 0: Departure from U.K


Day 01: Arrive Delhi

Upon arrival at Delhi International airport meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Delhi – Sultanpur – Delhi

Morning after breakfast drive toSultanpur Bird Sanctuarty for birding. A guided trip to the Sultanpur will enable you sight among the following birds - Common Hoopoe, Paddyfield Pipit, Purple Sunbird, Little Cormorant, Eurasian Thick-knee, Gray Francolin, Black Francolin, Indian Roller, White-throated Kingfisher, Spot billed Duck, Painted Stork, White Ibis, Black headed Ibis, Little Egret, Great Egret, Cattle Egret, India Crested Lark, Red vented Bulbul, Rose ringed Parakeet, Red wattled Lapwing, Shikra, Eurasian collared Dove, Red collared Dove, Laughing Dove, Spotted Owlet, Rock Pigeon, Magpie Robin, Greater Coucal, Weaver Bird, Bank Mynah, Common Mynah and Green Bee Eater.
Later return to Delhi for overnight stay.

Day 03: Delhi – Chambal

After breakfast leave for Chambal Bird Sanctuary. Upon arrival check into the hotel.In the afternoon jeep safari to the sanctuary for birding and wildlife viewing.Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04: Chambal

Morning enjoy boat cruise with a guide to see Indian skimmer, black-bellied tern, flocks of migratory waterfowl, cranes such as common, demoiselle and sarus, fish-eating crocodile and marsh mugger; Gangetic dolphin; turtles etc. Afternoon enjoy birding on the banks of the river. Overnight stay at Chambal Safari Lodge.

Day 05: Chambal

Morning jeep safari to the national park for birding. Afternoon we will go nature trek followed by walk through the nearby fields which are best for birding. Here one can witness the Red-headed Buntings, starlings, mynas, Rosy Starlings, Cattle Egrets, Indian Rollers, Common Palm Civets. Later return to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06: Chambal –Bharatpur

After breakfast leave for Bharatpur, en-route visit TajMahal at Agra. Further continue drive to Bharatpur. Upon arrival check into the hotel.Evening free at leisure.Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 07: Bharatpur

Full day birding in the Sanctuary.Bharatpur also known as an ' Ornithologist's Paradise', is home to over 400 species of birds. The most prominent birds are the migratory Siberian Cranes, Pelicans, Cranes, Ibis, Spoonbills, Egrets, Darters, Cormorants, Grey Herons, Stork, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Pipits, Warblers, Wheatears, Wagtails, Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks, Shanks, and Stints etc.
Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 08: Bharatpur

Morning explore the sanctuary for bird watching. In the afternoon we will go on an excursion to Bund Baretha. It is a beautiful dam site 38 km west of Bharatpur, and it offers excellent views over a massive reservoir. The wetlands are home to many waders and it is very much possible to sight some species not found inside the park. You can walk to the old Maharaja's palace and coupled with a scenic sunset, it makes for a good day visit.
Later return to the hotel for night stay.

Day 09: Bharatpur – Delhi - Departure

After a quick breakfast leave for Delhi.Upon arrival transfer to the airport for onward connection.
